July 16, 1957 — March 18, 2014
Gregory Lynn Watson passed away peacefully into the presence of Jesus on March 18, 2014. Greg was born in Vancouver, Wash., grew up in Walla Walla, earned a bachelor’s and master’s degree from Eastern Washington University in music education, then returned to school to pursue an electrical engineering degree from Walla Walla College. His career came full circle, from teaching high school in Hood River, Ore., to pastoring in DeSoto, Mo., to engineering positions at Blaze King (Walla Walla) and at several Seattle area companies (PreCor, Ryan Instruments, Crown Photo), finally combining his interests to create an award-winning engineering program at Kentridge High School in Kent. He was always active in his church community, a gentle soul who had an unbelievable mind for knowledge and trivia, and was passionate about helping his students win their robotic competitions.
Greg was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Margaret Watson of Walla Walla. He will be dearly missed by his beloved wife, Pam; his pride and joy, Ian and wife Audrey; his sister, Judy; many friends, coworkers and devoted students.
A celebration of his life was held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 22, 2014, at Westgate Chapel in Edmonds. The family wishes to thank the ICU staff at Swedish Hospital, Edmonds, the North Shore Christian Academy for the reception, and Westgate Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Wounded Warrior Project (woundedwarriorproject.org).
