Letter - Gutting United States defense budget is a mistake

If we lived in a perfect world where there was absolutely no danger of America being attacked, if there were no hateful, violent groups determined to destroy us, then reducing our military and our weapons might not be so frightening.

But the real world is full of people who want to annihilate the United States of America, along with our longtime friend and ally, Israel.

If that doesn’t frighten us, we’re stupid!

President Obama and Defense Secretary Hagel think that having fewer soldiers is a wise move, since, using their skewed reasoning, we don’t need to really worry about Afghanistan any longer (terrorists rejoice) and we aren’t actually in a war with any country.

Unfortunately, there hasn’t been any wisdom coming from Washington since Obama moved into The White House!

I find it ludicrous that anyone would suggest that fewer soldiers means better trained soldiers. They can’t be better trained when the defense budget is gutted in order to pay for Obama’s pet projects, such as his dictatorial health care fiasco.

Thanks to a president who doesn’t know the true meaning of leadership, and certainly doesn’t seem to care about being a strong commander-in-chief, the message has been sent around the world that the United States is weak. This emboldens our enemies and scares our allies.

And it’s a slap in the face to all the men and women who have given so much to defend America!

Obama promised to change America. He has, by pushing her into the mud every chance he gets!

Dear God, please help us!

"Dear God, Please help us". That's what you said in 2008 and 2012. Obama won, not once but twice. Roberta dear, I believe God did not listened to you! He did listened to us liberals, not once but twice!

You need to pray harder...or give up!
