WALLA WALLA — Whitman College will host the third Walla Walla Valley Violence Prevention Conference on Thursday.
The goal of the conference is to raise awareness of the rights of crime victims and enhance prevention of violence and other forms of harm in the Walla Walla Valley.
Rose J. Torgerson will give the keynote address, “30 Years: Restoring the Balance of Justice,” at 8:30 a.m., in Maxey Auditorium.
Torgerson is director of training at the Washington Coalition of Crime Victim Advocates, a nonprofit organization that works to support and strengthen victim rights, services and systems through collaboration, outreach, awareness and education
Various talks and events about the rights of crime victims and prevention of violence and other forms of harm in the Walla Walla Valley will occur during the day. All events are free and open to the public.
