Mansion Creek Cellars has made a move to the Marcus Whitman Hotel & Conference Center.

The downtown Walla Walla winery celebrated the grand opening of its new tasting room space this week with a ribbon-cutting Monday.

The boutique winery, owned by Roger and Julia Russell, joins the cluster of tasting rooms inside the Marcus Whitman lobby at the gateway to downtown.

Opened in 2011, Mansion Creek has operated at 9 S. First Ave. in tasting room space shared with Plumb Cellars. Plumb will continue to operate in that tasting room. wThe new space for Mansion Creek was formerly occupied by Don Carlo Vineyards.

An extensive remodel into a chic destination for the winery’s food-friendly wines is anchored by a custom kiln-fired glass bar top.

The bubbling of the glass caused during the kiln process glows with backlighting.

Mansion Creek has partnered with winemaker Ali Mayfield to further explore Spanish-style wines.

The tasting room space is located near tasting rooms for Waters Winery, Locati Cellars, Trio Vintners, Lodmell Cellars, Tero Estates and Flying Trout Wines. For more details call 253-370-6107.
