Local dance group raising funds to stage show

SuitCase Dances needs contributions to bring original dance theater to Walla Walla, according to Peter de Grasse, Vicki Lloid, Raffaele Exiana, artistic directors.

By early last week, they had raised $1,925 toward their goal. They plan to perform “The Relatives” at The Gesa Power House Theatre on April 26.

They’re rehearsing with a full cast of actors and dancers, including Douglas Carlsen in the role of Narrator. Robert Parrish is volunteer photographer and designer for print marketing materials and posters can be spotted around town.

Nancy Simon and Todd Oleson are coaching actors on finer points of the action. Raffaele’s costumes are under construction

“Most importantly, the morale of our company is buoyed by your continued financial support,” the trio said in a release. “When we tell the actors and dancers at rehearsals that support is still coming in, the energy is incredible!”
