Walla Walla

A 63-year-old woman was cited for malicious mischief after she rammed a shopping cart into a car in the Super One Foods parking lot after an occupant car failed to put the cart away properly.

A 17-year-old boy and his younger brother were driving home from Spiderman 2 when a man approached their vehicle in the intersection of Myra Road and Poplar Street. The 17-year-old rolled down his car window to see what the man wanted, and the 24-year-old man punched the teen in the face. A witness reported the assault, and police arrested the 24-year-old man on investigation of fourth-degree assault.

Wallet and contents reported stolen in the 300 block of North Blue Street.

Four tires slashed in the 700 block of North Main Street.

A 26-year-old woman attempted to shoplift cosmetics valued at $31 from Shopko.

Vehicle damaged by a BB gun pellet.

A 48-year-old woman reported her purse was stolen while she slept outside near Clarette’s Restaurant. The purse was returned, but her iPhone was missing.

A 43-year-old woman was arrested for fourth-degree assault and malicious mischief after she punched two holes in a bathroom door during an argument with her male partner. The man had complained she didn’t listen to him.

Walla Walla County

A 15-year-old boy was cited for an instruction permit violation after driving without adult supervision.

A 47-year-old man was transported to Providence St. Mary Medical Center after he reportedly cut his own throat in his front yard on Saturday. The man, who reportedly survived, suffers from mental health issues, according to police.

A Walla Walla County sheriff’s deputy stopped two people walking in the middle of the road near the intersection of Tietan Street and Fourth Avenue. The Deputy recognized a 46-year-old man as a registered sex offender, and noticed his companion was a 14-year-old girl. The teen said she was walking to a friend’s house at night and the 46-year-old had offered to escort her. The man told the deputy he was only trying to protect the teen. The deputy transported the girl to her father’s house.

Joshua L. Sheets, 30, 811½ N. Main St., Sunday. Charge: investigation of possession of methamphetamine.

Felix Romero Jr., 18, 617 N.W. Eighth Ave., Sunday. Charge: investigation of possession of methamphetamine.

Thanks to the deputy who rescued the 14 year old girl even though she didn't realize she was in danger.
