ACTION: Approved annual resolution for WIAA membership; authorized Superintendent Susan Bell to enter negotiations with selected special inspection and testing firm for the Touchet School renovation project; approved softball team overnight trip for state playoffs in Yakima; approved out of state trip to Milton-Freewater pool for second- and third-graders; approved memorandum of understanding detailing resolutions for teachers in the event of a class which is larger than the agreed upon based on the teachers’ collective bargaining agreement with the district; and approved fundraising activities. All decisions were unanimous.
SUPERINTENDENT REPORT: Heard report from Bell that: the State Auditor’s Office has issued a preliminary report; the district’s finances are in order; enrollment has increased by three full-time equivalent students over the school year; the district completed the consolidated program review as mandated by the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction; Highly Qualified program preparations are ongoing; the district approved staffing contracts; and seniors completed exit surveys and a senior project.
SURPLUS: The district will have a surplus sale on June 25 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
CONSENT: Board approved consent agenda consisting of May payroll, May warrants and vouchers, personnel report, teacher contracts and special education contract with Education Services District 123.
