The Walla Walla High School Latino Club recently elected officers for the 2014-2015 school year: Veronica Ocampo, junior, president; Christian Moreno, sophomore, vice president; Dalia Olmos, sophomore, secretary; Andy Flores, freshman, treasurer; and Valeria Alonso, sophomore, activity coordinator.

“Being president of the Walla Walla Latino Club is a challenging position and requires a lot of responsibility, which I am willing to take on,” Veronica said. The new leaders are planning activities for the upcoming school year starting with the Walla Walla County Fair & Frontier Days.

The club promotes education and cultural support and represents the Latino community at Wa-Hi; creates and implements activities to develop relationships and understanding between all students on campus; mentors and provides information to increase the educational and career opportunities of Latino students; and provides opportunities for its members to serve Walla Walla through community service.
