The scoring was confined to one inning here Saturday in non-league baseball action. Garfield-Palouse-Tekoa-Oakesdale scored five runs after Pomeroy High School had tallied the first run of the game in the top of the third. GPTO made the third inning five-spot stand up for a 5-1 win.

A District 9 JV track and field meet took to Dayton’s track on Wednesday, with Waitsburg-Prescott winning the boys’ side and Asotin the girls’. The meet was intended for younger athletes and those who haven’t attended many meets, along with varsity members.

It was a day of astounding numbers for the Pomeroy High School softball team. The Pirates won a pair of games over Lacrosse-Washtucna-Kahlotus, 21-9 and 30-11, while walking a combined 38 times.
