ONTARIO, Ore. — McLoughlin evened its Greater Oregon League league record here Saturday in girls soccer action.
RICHLAND — Walla Walla High School swam to a third place finish here at Prout Pool in swimming action at the Tri-City Champs girls swimming meet Saturday.
TROUT LAKE, Wash. — Prescott improved its season soccer record to 8-2 with a 5-0 shutout of Trout Lake here Friday.
ATHENA — Weston-McEwen jumped on Pilot Rock/Nixyaawii with 29 first-quarter points, added 13 more in the second stanza and coasted from there to take a 57-0 victory here Friday night.
DAYTON — Colton scored 36 unanswered first-quarter points, and despite Dayton showing some definite improvement the Bulldogs were unable to recover and fell, 72-40.
TOUCHET — Big plays on both sides of the ball carried Touchet to a 54-20 victory over Pomeroy here Friday on a picture-perfect Indian Summer afternoon.
LA GRANDE — La Grande put 32 first-quarter points on the board here Friday against McLoughlin High in the Greater Oregon League opener for both schools.
WAITSBURG — It was all coming up roses — new red jerseys and a happy homecoming crowd — for Waitsburg here Friday following a 38-yard field goal by Jordan Garrity with 8:21 left in the third that produced a 24-0 Cardinal advantage.
Running back Zayid Al-Ghani rushed for 213 yards and defensive back Derrick Gillespie intercepted two passes Friday night to help lead Southridge to a 17-7 victory over Walla Walla High School in a Mid-Columbia Conference football game at Borleske Stadium.

CULVER, Ore. — Weston-McEwen suffered its first Columbia Basin Conference volleyball defeat of the season here Thursday as Culver, the No. 3 team in Oregon’s Class 2A state rankings, prevailed 25-19, 25-23, 25-22.
PASCO — Chiawana handed Walla Walla High a three-set Mid-Columbia Conference volleyball defeat here Thursday.
PENDLETON — McLoughlin High’s boys soccer squad prepared to resume Greater Oregon League play at Ontario on Saturday with a thorough 9-1 victory over Pendleton here on Thursday.
