She married Tony Zaro on Sept. 23, 1936. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church and St. Anne’s Altar Society. She worked at Birds Eye Cannery and helped her husband on the family truck farm raising Walla Walla Sweet Onions and other vegetables while also making a wonderful home for her husband and daughter. She had a wonderful flower garden along with helping her husband plant a victory garden with many types of vegetables for their use. She was a talented seamstress sewing her daughter’s school clothes and in later years, volunteered at St. Vincent de Paul helping make quilts. She enjoyed watching her great-granddaughter, Kaylee, play softball and ride her horses.
She is survived by her daughter, Phyllis Brown (Jake); grandson, Jacob (Jim) Brown (Angie); and great-granddaughter, Kaylee Brown; a sister, Carolyn Goodwin; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Tony; brother, Frank Pinza; and sisters, Mary Locati and Johanna (Jennie) Locati.
