Alvin Thomas Mohr

1923 - 2012

Alvin T. Mohr was born in Mason City, Nebraska. His parents
were Vigo and Gladys Mohr. He attended grade school
and high school in Mason City. Alvin served in the United
States Navy in World War II. He received the American Area
Campaign Medal and the World War II Victory Medal.
He married Rosa Wattenbarger and together they had one
daughter. They later divorced.

Alvin was a distributor with ARA Services in the book
and magazine division for thirty-two years, retiring in 1985.
He operated fireworks stands for many years. He and Bernice
Walker married in 1974. They lived on Lewis Peak Road in
the Blue Mountains for twenty years. They moved to Sunset
Villa in College Place in 1995.
He loved the Blue Mountains and liked hunting and
fishing in his earlier years. He was a life member of the Elks
Lodge BPOE #287.

Alvin is survived by his wife, Bernice; one daughter,
Sharon Cohu of Sunnyside, WA; four step-daughters, Janet
Knapp of Pullman, WA, Helen Hayworth of Milton-Freewater,
OR, Debbie Walker and Darlene Johnson, both of Walla
Walla; one step-son, Robert Walker of College Place; twelve
grandchildren, twenty-four great-grandchildren and two
great-great grandchildren. He was a devoted husband, father
and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents, an
infant brother and one step-grandson.

Memorial contributions may be made to Blue Mountain
Humane Society or charity of choice through Mountain
View-Colonial DeWitt, 1551 Dalles Military Road, Walla
Walla, WA 99362. There will be a private family committal service
at Mountain View Cemetery.
