1945 - 2012
Sharon Ann Carter, age 67, died Nov. 19, 2012, at her son’s residence near Dayton. Memorial services will be held at a later date. Those who wish may contribute to the Walla Walla Hospice through Hubbard-Rogg Funeral Home, 111 S. 2nd St., Dayton, WA 99328.
Sharon was born Feb. 16, 1945, in Colfax, Wash. Her parents were Harry and Ileen Cook Kromm. She attended local schools and got her GED when she turned 40.
On June 12, 1965, she married Billy Carter in a ceremony held in Las Vegas, Nev. She was her husband’s “right-hand man” because she was raised on a ranch in the Pickard/Clyde area and knew how to do almost anything. She had been a harvest cook, truck driver, a waitress at the Hidelberg Villa, manager at the Silver Spur Tavern and school bus driver and trainer for Prescott School District. She enjoyed training horses, snowmobiling, fishing and hunting, camping and packing into the mountains on elk hunts with her husband and brothers. Sharon was loved and respected by those who knew her.
Her survivors are her husband, Billy Carter at their home in Waitsburg; four children, Dennis, Charlotte, Cory and Carmen; nine grandchildren; two brothers, Randy and Jerry Kromm.
