Anna R. Huber of Milton-Freewater passed away on Nov. 17, 2012, at Walla Walla General Hospital at the age of 88 years. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012, at 10 a.m. at the Munselle-Rhodes Funeral Home, 902 S. Main, Milton-Freewater, with Pastor Steve Lyons officiating. Concluding services and interment will follow at the Milton-Freewater Cemetery. Those who wish may make contributions in memory of Anna Huber to the Providence St. Mary Regional Cancer Center Special Needs or Blue Mountain Humane Society in care of the funeral home.
Anna Ruth Huber was born on Jan. 3, 1924, the daughter of Fred and Faye Wheeler in Norton, Kan. She was raised on the family farm and attended school in Norton. Anna had one sister, Lela, and three brothers, Wayne, Dale and Harry. After high school she attended teacher’s college in Kansas and taught school for a few years. Anna later moved to Milton-Freewater to be near family who had moved to the area. In January of 1950 she married Emory “Buck” Huber.
Survivors include her daughter, Merri Anne Huber of Milton-Freewater; son, James Huber of Portland; granddaughters and their spouses, Christina and Eric Alley and Mellissa and Andreas Atle; great-granddaughter, Braelynn Alley; one special sister-in-law, Leota Roberts; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family and friends. Her parents; husband; and one daughter, Marlene Huber; all preceded her in death.
