Betty Zaro

1944 - 2012

Betty passed away at home with her loving family by her side on Sept. 29, 2012.
She was born on Feb. 5, 1944, to Tony & Louise Fetters Brown.
She married Nick Zaro on Aug. 5, 1978, in Dayton.

She was a meat wrapper at Wades Thriftway for 10 years. Her favorite hobbies were spending time with her family, crafts, playing bingo, slot machines and travel.

She is survived by her husband, Nick Zaro, at the home; three children, Destry Zaro of Walla Walla, Cindy Hill of Port Orchard, Wash., and Jim Golz of Port Orchard; her mother, Louise Brown of Walla Walla; four sisters, Gerry Flynn of Spokane, Jeanette (Wes) Carney of Walla Walla, Gail Ringering of College Place and Sue (Rob) Farris of Yakima; two brothers-in-law; four sisters-in-law; nine grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Tony Brown; one niece and one nephew; and one brother-in-law.

The graveside funeral service will be held on Friday, Oct. 5, at 2:30 p.m. at Mountain View Cemetery with the Rev. Steve Morris officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Walla Walla Community Hospice or St. Mary Regional Cancer Center through the Herring Groseclose Funeral Home, 315 W. Alder St., Walla Walla.
