Allan Egbert

1921 - 2012

College Place resident, Allan Egbert, 91, passed away
September 29, 2012, at St. Anthony Hospital in Pendleton,
Oregon. Allan was born April 13, 1921, in Kaycee, Wyoming,
to John and Evaline Skinner Egbert. He graduated from Ten
Sleep High School in Ten Sleep, Wyoming. He served in the US
Army in the European Theater 34th General Hospital during
WWII. On October 24, 1975, he and Mary Lurana Greet
married at the Village Seventh-day Adventist Church in
College Place, where they are members.

He is remembered as a kind, loving and spiritual man
who believed anything could be fixed with a little elbow
grease, wire and duct tape. He loved to spend time with
his family and especially his grandchildren, taking them
camping, huckleberry picking, sledding, to the park, on long
walks or letting them help in his garden.

Allan is survived by his wife at their home in College
Place; his step-daughter, Joy Bonar of Thermopolis,
Wyoming; his step-son, Don Jordan of Worland, Wyoming;
his brother, Nelson “Swede” Egbert of Spokane, Washington;
twelve grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; three
nieces and one nephew. He was preceded in death by two
brothers; a step-daughter, Carol Schaub and step-son, Carl
Jordan.

The memorial service will be 10:00 a.m., Sunday,
October 28, 2012, in the Chapel of the Village Seventh-day
Adventist Church, 12th and Larch Streets, College Place,
Washington. Memorial contributions may be made to The
