1924 - 2012
All of us in the extended Key Technology family offer this small, but important
tribute to Harold Frank upon his sudden passing on August 20. From the time
of his early adulthood living in Walla Walla and working in a canning plant,
Harold had a dream of one day automating the food industry. The foundation for
realizing that dream was laid when Applied Magnetics Corp., a multi-national company founded by Harold,
acquired Key Equipment Co. in 1968. The dream then became reality after Harold and five other investors purchased Key and formed Key Technology, Inc. in 1983.
Serving as Chairman of the Board for 20 years, Harold’s dream, his work ethic, moral code and leadership
left an indelible and lasting imprint on the Company. It was an honor and a privilege to have Harold as a part
of the Key Team, and we will always be grateful for the important role he played in our success and the well being of each of us today.
A Memorial Service will be held at the First Congregational Church, 73 South Palouse Street in Walla
Walla on Saturday, September 8, 2012 at 4:00 p.m.
