Bernice Lucarelli

1916 - 2012

Bernice Lucarelli passed away Sept. 14, 2012, at Olympia Manor in Lacey, Wash. Bernice was born to Camila and Guy Haskins at Nampa, Idaho, on Nov. 7, 1916. The family later moved to Meridian, Idaho, where Bernice attended school and graduated from Meridian High.

In 1943 she married Harlan Stroup and later divorced. In 1950 she moved to Clarkston, Wash., and in 1966 married Ed Jungert, who died in 1975. She was employed by Dr. L. Crismon for 28 years and on retirement married Remo Lucarelli and moved to Walla Walla. Remo preceded her in death in 2005.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Clarkston, Business and Professional Club of Lewiston, member of Lady Elks, Asotin County Historical Society and Walla Walla Valley Pioneer and Historical Society.

She is survived by two daughters, Joanne Cochran of Lacey, Wash., and Barbara Brittain of Reno, Nev.; son, Donald Stroup of Lacey, Wash.; step-son, Michael Jungert of Clarkston; three step-daughters, Sharon Lucarelli Clemens, Gerri Lucarelli Coleman, Nancy Lucarelli Dickey, all of Walla Walla; seven grandchildren, eight step-grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters.

Interment will be in the Haskin family plot at Dry Creek Cemetery in Boise. Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army or Christian Aid Center of Walla Walla.
