Loretta Evanell Rimpler Danielson

1928 - 2012

Walla Walla native Loretta Evanell Rimpler Danielson, 84, died Sept. 6, 2012, at 100 Mile House, British Columbia, Canada. At her request, there will be no service. Memorial contributions may be made to The Christian Aid Center.

Loretta was born April 3, 1928, in Prineville, Ore., to Adelbert (Bob) Rimpler and Anna (Lindner) Rimpler. At age 5, she moved with her family to the dairy/wheat ranch near the Whitman Mission. She graduated from Walla Walla High School in 1946, and from Eastern Washington University in 1949, with a teaching degree.

On Aug. 27, 1950, she married Arthur M. Danielson in Walla Walla. They farmed in the Waitsburg area until 1964, when they moved to Clinton, British Columbia, where they purchased a cattle/hay ranch. Besides being active with the ranch chores, she did substitute teaching and for 22 years, was the bookkeeper for the local sawmill. Her special interests were reading, nature, astronomy and hand penning lengthy letters to “pen pals” and family. Arthur died Sept. 4, 2004.

She is survived by daughters, Susan (Bryan) Ellis of Salem, Ore., Lynne (Armand Brochu) Pederson of Barriere, Connie (Bruce) Gainor, and Kim (Shane) Campbell, all of British Columbia; sister, Loleta (Mel) Haas of Walla Walla; brother, Gerald (Janet) Rimpler of Ellensburg, Wash.; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband.
