Born to Kris and Dewayne Rhodes, tiny Josaphene was
given to her family as a gift, meant to show them and the
world the incredible power of determination.
Arriving more than three months before her due date, Josie already
had the heart of a warrior in her 20-ounce body. The miniature
angel blessed all who knew her by her fighting spirit
and the will to live fully in the time she was allowed to be
on earth. Josie’s birth rallied widespread support and her
death does the same. As her job here finished, Josaphene
left as quickly as she came, nestled in the arms of her family.
They will cherish her message of love and strength
in the face of insurmountable obstacles forever.
Josie is survived by her grateful parents, her sister
Ellee, grandparents Dusty and Terri Rhodes,
of Dixie; Sandy Chapman of Pendleton, Dennis
and Vicki Chapman of California, as well as her
great-grandparent, numerous aunts and uncles
