1948 - 2013
James Williams Elliott Jr. passed away peacefully on Feb. 12, 2013, at the age of 64. He was the son of James and Edna Richmond Elliott Sr. He was born Sept. 10, 1948, in Memphis, Tenn. He served in the Army Reserves. He graduated from DeSales High School in 1968 and was a star athlete there. He also graduated from Walla Walla Community College in 2006 with a degree in culinary arts. He was also a member of the Solid Rock Church and an usher. He enjoyed cooking and dancing.
He is survived by his parents, James and Edna Elliott Sr.; brother, Keith Elliott; sister, Lillian Aldridge; sons, James Elliott III, Marche Elliott, Terry Parromore, Gavin Parromore; daughters, Martise Elliott, Angelina Elliott; several grandchildren; niece, Nakia Goldsberry; and a host of other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Michelle Elliott; and his grandparents.
Viewing and visitation will be held at the Herring Groseclose Funeral Home, 315 W. Alder, Walla Walla, on Monday, Feb. 18, 2013, from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church, 631 S. Douglas St., Pasco, on Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013, at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at the City View Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Walla Walla Community Hospice or the American Lung Association through the funeral home.
