Wilma R. Jones

1924 - 2013

Lifelong Walla Walla resident Wilma R. Jones, 88, passed away Jan. 9, 2013, at her grandson’s home surrounded by family.
Wilma was born Oct. 25, 1924, in Walla Walla to Otto and Pearl Scheider. She graduated from Walla Walla High School. On Dec. 9, 1943, she and William A. Jones married in Walla Walla. He preceded her in death.
She enjoyed her role as a homemaker, especially flowers and gardening and spending time with her grandchildren. She was especially known for her baking skills, including pies, and making jams and jellies. She
had attended the Emmanuel Lutheran Church.

Wilma is survived by two sons, James A. (Janice) Jones and Robert Jones; two grandchildren, Jimmie (Millicent) Jones and Janine (David) Razzolini; five great-grandchildren, Cody Erdman, Jessica Jones, Olivia Jones, Mya Jones and Justin Jones; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Richard Jones; and her sister, Mildred Palmer.

The graveside service will be 2 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 14, 2013, at Mountain View Cemetery, 2120 S. Second Ave., Walla Walla. Pastor Mark Koonz will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to Providence St. Mary Regional Cancer Center through Mountain View-Colonial DeWitt, 1551 Dalles Military Road, Walla Walla, WA 99362.
