1958 - 2013
Roger was born in Sacramento, Calif., to Verna and Clayton Bergstad. He attended school in California and Colorado before settling in the Walla Walla Valley. Roger earned his G.E.D, joined the U.S. Navy and was honorably discharged in 1976. He later married Teresa Boede and together had three children. Roger enjoyed fishing, traveling and being with friends and family.
He is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his children, September Buce of Walla Walla, Kimberly Monroe of Milton-Freewater, Jeremy Bergstad of Salem, Ore., Jeramy Boyles of Yreka, Calif.; sisters, Vicky Weis of Milton-Freewater, Judy Jost of Walla Walla and Marilin Dickson of Milton-Freewater; his brother, John Bergstad of Salem, Ore.; six grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Jan. 20, 2013, at 2 p.m. at the Seventh day Adventist Church in Milton-Freewater. There will be a potluck dinner following the service.
