Robert W. Almvig

1921 - 2013

Robert W. Almvig 91, passed peacefully on Friday, Jan. 18, 2013, at Park Manor. He was born in Tacoma, March 1, 1921, and graduated from Stadium High in 1939. He served as a radio technician for the army in World War II and attended the College of Puget Sound. Bob worked many years in the family appliance business with his brother Bill in Seattle. He loved boating and fishing and invented an eyeless salmon mooching hook. He was a past president of the Seattle Poggie Club and a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Dorothy Ann Andersen of Gary, Minn.; and his brother, Bill Almvig. He is survived by his daughter, Beverly Almvig of Walla Walla; and son, Robert Jr. of Seattle; and granddaughters, Erika and Anna Almvig; and his sister, Marjorie Lyman, of Federal Way.
