Issues of fairness in bids and saving ratepayer dollars surround this 20-acre mountain of compacted refuse know as Sudbury Landfill Area Six. The controversy centers over whether city officials should accept the lowest bid for an Area Six closure project and save $100,000, or consider that lowest bid as insufficient and go with the next lowest bidder to maintain fairness. City Council will review the bids at its next meeting on Wednesday evening at City Hall.
