Dancer Emily Hanscam lies on stage in a pool of golden light during a rehearsal for the Whitman Dance Theater presentation of Minidoka, a remembrance of war, suffering and hope for healing. Minidoka is inspired by A Cold Wind from Idaho, Lawrence Matsuda's poetic tribute to the Japanese and Japanese Americans who lived in the U.S. internment camp in Minidoka, Idaho, during World War II.
