During rehearsal at Cordiner Hall for the Whitman Dance Theater's presentation of Minidoka---a tribute to Japanese and Japanese Americans in an internment camp during WW II---dancer Laura van der Veer floats across stage while internee belongings are piled to the side. "I think of this movement as packing," comments Vicki Lloid. "There are so many period photographs of luggage either left behind or taken to the camps and just the thought of having to pack for the unknown on 3 days notice is so frightening. What would you take, what would you leave behind."
