... But the bully days for Walla Walla's streets ran out by the late 1950s. This parade on Alder Street in 1958 is reflective of the widespread, decrepit pavement that spurred one of the city's periodic renaissances in street care and feeding. That era gave way to the one in which we find ourselves now, with an unquestionable lack of dedicated funding to effectively repair and keep up the city's roadways.
