Bohemian waxwings feed on aril in a Western yew in photographer Earl Blackaby’s yard in Walla Walla. The colorful birds come out of Canada during the winter months to feed on fruits berries. Blackaby said the birds left as suddenly as they arrived last week — after devouring the red berries and policing the ground for those that fell off in the fleeting food frenzy.
