Eight area teachers are among the 1,248 national board certified teachers certified by the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards in 2009.
Washington is ranked second in the nation behind North Carolina for the number of new NBCTs in 2009. Overall there are 3,964 nationally board certified teachers in Washington.
