Dear "worried sick",
My step daughter went down this exact path and it all started with a stupid boy commenting on her weight.
I'm sure if you asked your daughter....she would state a similar incident triggered all of this.
Don't beat yourself up over how your parenting could have been better. External forces are hard to defend against. Do as "Mom" suggested and find a support group. Hearing from others in your situation helps alot.
