WALLA WALLA - The Blue Devils topped four other schools in the Palouse Invite at Whitman's Louise and Paul Harvey Pool Saturday.
Wa-Hi scored 392 to edge Pullman's 387. Cheney came in third with 218, Clarkston had 172 and Medical Lake had 19.
Wa-Hi was without both captains for most the of the meet. One, a Seventh-Day Adventist, couldn't participate in Saturday's meet. Tori Jones returned to the pool after taking the SAT's, scoring much-needed points in the end to win the meet.
"There were three events to go and we were down by three points," said Wa-Hi coach Brad Daly. "And (Tori) Jones came to the meet without any warm-ups and jumped in the pool to finish second in the 100 breaststroke to help pull out the victory for us. She also contributed late in a relay."
