BURBANK — Two people were injured this morning when a car and semitruck collided.
According to the Washington State Patrol, the accident occurred at 9:40 a.m. at the intersection of U.S. Highway 12 and State Route 124.
Police said a car driven by Rodolfo Rodriguez, 37, of Pasco was eastbound on Highway 12 and failed to stop for a red light, colliding with a semitruck attempting to turn onto the highway.
Rodriguez was taken to Lourdes Medical Center in Pasco and a passenger in the car, Maria Prado, 40, of Pasco was taken to Kadlec Medical Center in Richland. Information on their conditions was not available this afternoon.
The truck driver, Stephen Martinez, 24, of Pasco, was uninjured, police said. The cause of the accident was under investigation.
