MILTON-FREEWATER - For the third consecutive year, Milton Seventh-day Adventist Church is hosting a live nativity.

This year, one camel and two distant cousins - two llamas - will represent the camels ridden by the three wise men.

Donkeys, goats and sheep will also be part of the nativity exhibit.

And as in years past, the nativity will feature some light acting, as people are told to keep moving along by the innkeeper because there is no room at the inn, said church representative and volunteer Becky St. Clair.

Actors portraying Joseph and Mary will also be part of the nativity, but this year no baby Jesus could be found. So a doll will be used.

Even last year, St. Clair said she had trouble finding a baby boy and ended up using her own daughter.

"She was 4 months old, so she was a little older than a newborn. And she slept through the whole thing. But she was wrapped in cloth. And they were trying to hide that she was a girl."

The annual event is free to the public, and the last chance to see the live nativity this year is from 6-8 tonight.

The church is located on Highway 11, across the highway from Napa Auto Parts.
