Improved Wolves can’t quite shake Mounties
The WWU softball team plays better against EOU, coach Mike Jemenez says, but can’t get a victory.

COLLEGE PLACE — Walla Walla University maintained a 3-2 lead over Eastern Oregon into the seventh inning in the nightcap of their twin bill here Sunday, looking to overcome the Mountaineers following game-after-game of frustration. But one of the Wolves’ five errors in the game helped EOU score the go-ahead run in the top of the seventh, and the Mountaineers left town with two more victories over WWU, 5-3 and 4-3.
