Waitsburg School District met the Annual Yearly Progress goals in all areas.

Other area schools, Dayton, Pomeroy, Touchet and Prescott, all fell short in one or more areas, but all were above the state AYP average of 68 percent.

Reading in elementary and/or middle school was the troublesome spot for the schools, and Prescott, which had the lowest rate (74 percent) also showed some difficulty in middle school math.

All five schools showed improvements in end-of-class math testing, which began last year. Dayton schools improved from 52 to 91 percent meeting standards. Other schools and their EOC scores:

Waitsburg: 61 percent to 76 percent.

Touchet: 62 percent to 73 percent.

Pomeroy: 58 percent to 82 percent.

Prescott: 50 percent to 63 percent.

The five districts also exceed state averages in graduation rates. Prescott and Touchet both showed 100 percent with a 5-year factor included, and Prescott's grad rate for four-year students was also 100 percent.

With the five-year factor, Dayton's graduation rate for 2010 was 91 percent, Waitsburg, 95 percent, and Pomeroy, 95 percent.
