UNION COUNTY, Ore. -- This morning search and rescue teams from four eastern Oregon counties located a Milton-Freewater man who was reported missing Monday.
Kent Bigler, 59, was reported missing by his wife at nearly midnight, Monday, after failing to turn up after a day of skiing in the Spout Springs area.
"He was in the Looking Glass area, and that's pretty rugged," said Umatilla County Sheriff John Trumbo.
Bigler attempted to call his wife at 2:30 a.m. Tuesday, according to Umatilla County Dispatch incident blotter information. The call reportedly failed.
Union County officials requested aid in the search for Bigler at 4:30 a.m. Union County Sheriff Boyd Rasmussen said multiple agencies were called in to ramp up efforts to find Bigler before an expected snow storm hit the area.
Search and rescue personel found Bigler, an experienced skier and outdoorsman, at approximately 11:20 this morning, according to Union County Sheriff Boyd Rasmussen.
"I know he's walking under his own power right now, wich is a good sign," Rasmussen said.
