If you think your life is ruled by a 10 year old in New England, you have something seriously wrong with you. I dont know where you are from, but you should come to my hometown, public schools have a Christmas program every year, there are christian churches all over the place, the jail is full of christian criminals, students worship deities in a circle around the flag pole at the high school, and people write letters to the editor about the dangers of religious law taking over our government. You would love it here!

the beautiful thing about living in the good ole USA is the right we have to worship or not to worship. Some take it to extremes..Example Westboro Baptist Church...they have no clue what they are doing.. LOL..However... it is sad that a 10 year old child who really has no clue one way or another would have any say at all about what is posted in the school, unless of course she is the ONLY student there...methinks there is an athiestic parent or two involved.Ms Whipple has a point.. just because the athiest denies the existence of God,doesn't mean that the rest of us have to agree. They can believe as they wish.. or not. There is a sky and there is earth.deny the existence all you want but it is still there.. Perhaps the child should read about the Emperors New Clothes.. Kinda drives home a point.

Christians feel entitled to have public schools covered in religious symbols and bible verses because they think their religion is the only true one and the rest are false. How would christians feel if the muslims wanted their religious stuff on the walls of a public school? There are so many religions with vastly different views, the only fair thing to do is to keep all religions out of public buildings and public policy. It is not just atheists who want bible verses out of public schools, it is all non-christian people. Lydia, you and all other christians need to take an honest look at why you are a christian. Look at the evidence supporting your religion, if you can find any. Look at why there are over 35,000 different sects of christianity. There are so many different ideas of what god is that there is no way for anyone to know what the truth is. It is extremely arrogant of you to think you know the truth and to think the creator of all things has a personal relationship with you. Atheists are not stupid and we are not evil. We are simply people who have looked at the evidence for the existence of any god and were underwhelmed. We are generous, kind, intelligent people who believe that it is possible to live a better, more productive life without religion.

I am going to tell a little story here, and I am going to use commonsense as my subject...sorry this won't hurt lol..
commonsense died and went to heaven, as he was walking around enjoying the golden streets and all that heaven has to offer, he saw a wall.. a very large wall that was as high as the sky and went on as far as the eye could see.. perplexed commonsense asked St Peter.. whats the deal with the wall?? why is it there? St Peter calmly said.. it is because the baptists are on the other side and they think they are the only ones there!!
