With all due respect, the institution of marriage is compromised by serial adulterers such as one of the leading candidates for the GOP presidential nomination. The institution of marriage is compromised by a 50% divorce rate in the US among "normal" people who are married for the first time. It only goes UP for second and third marriages. It hardly seems likely that allowing people to marry who love each other but happen to be of the same sex is going to do much more harm than heterosexuals have already managed on their own.

To all you "God Fearing" people......Just who do you think you are?? You don't have the right to decide what marriage is or isn't.... I have been married to a man and it is not all it is cracked up to be.The 10 commandments say nothing at all about marriage of any kind, except to not commit adultery, and I do believe that is a heterosexual thing.Whether or not I chose to marry my domestic partner or not is none of your business any more than what you do to your wife in your bedroom is mine..Get off your god fearing high horses, and let it be.. I guarantee you that it will not affect your life one way or another unless you choose.I will tell you something else.. We will cherish our marriages more because we have had to fight for the right, rather than just assuming that it is a "god given right!!

In the US two atheists can be married by a judge in an office in ten minutes and be recognized in EVERY state. Legal marriage in the US has nothing to do with God or religion - although some choose to have their union blessed through their own religious beliefs and ceremonies.

There is no requirement that you believe in a Christian deity before you may sign a marriage license in the US - and there never should be.

Mr Lamb, would you please explain how gay people being married lowers your ability to govern yourself according to God's will or how it strips you of your right to practice the faith in which you believe? No matter how many gay people marry, you will always have the right and the ability to govern yourself, to control yourself and to sustain yourself according to the Ten Commandments of God and it will still be pathetic that you need the commandments to be written down to know not to do most of them.

Commonsense... I know Mr Lamb... And he does not use the computer to look at the paper, he recieves the hard copy, and does not look at this blog, and wouldnt want to debate the issues on this site. You guys could ask him the questions by calling him out (so to speak) by writing a letter your selves. If you guys think about it, most of the subscribers of the UB prefer to recieve the hard copy and dont even know that this site is here.

Sometimes I wish I didnt know.
