Totally agree - poor timing! Not good for the school district who is trying to pass this bond. What would even be better is if we could get the athletic director (Don Wilkins) and the school board president (Anne Golden) to retire - it's time for them to go and let new blood come in.

Congratulations to this young man, what hard work he has done. Sending good wishes to you Jack Wanichek. Remarkable picture, you can see how hard he has worked.

Myinput 1 year, 7 months ago on Letter - Local volleyball team will get better with age

I too was excited to see the photo in the paper about the Sweets Volleyball Club.

I've seen them play. The level of play is fantastic from players. These girls are no beginners. This program will certainly become a feeder program for Wa-Hi and universities.

Myinput 1 year, 7 months ago on Task force suggests delay in asking for Walla Walla school bond

Did I read this right....the task force says to hold off, but the WWSD is forging ahead anyway? Why have a task force if you aren't going to listen.

I've been hearing all sorts of wonderful things about the Sweets Volleyball program from parents and people in the community. My grandaughter will be 12 next year she wants to be part of their program. It's nice to see such wonderful and positive programs for female athletes in our community - and one that is clearly competitive! Good job.

Myinput 1 year, 7 months ago on Boy not in proper child seat injured in wreck on U.S. Highway 730

Is it really important to let the readers know that a young boy lost his life over improper restraining the day of the accident?

Sure, I understand you want to teach people about restraining your child properly - but how insensitive.

Isn't it bad enough that the little boy died, but to call out the family in the paper so close to the accident is just plain thoughtless. Come on UB and Hearld, have a little tact. Shame on you.

God bless this family.

Beth, you have done a wonderful job and our families and community are blessed by the wonderful projects you take on and help.

Best of luck to you and your family.

Myinput 1 year, 9 months ago on Forgive fines owed for octopus sign on toy store

A law is a law. Nope not a city coucil or state employee - no thanks not interested in a job in politics. What I am interested in is showing children and adults that rules are made and meant to be followed and if you don't follow them then there is a consequences. The court has already ruled on this case. He needs to pay his fine - it's the consequence. If we remove the fine then all then what is that really teaching? And as for children - I have several who are in grade school, middle school and high school.

Myinput 1 year, 9 months ago on School bullying is taken seriously in Walla Walla

I read the letter to the editor by Max Berg and have followed the conversations. Perhaps someone needs to look at the schools that are being mentioned. Perhaps talk to the parents who have written letters and complaints about a certain student(s) that have continued to be allowed to stay in the mainstream and are repeat offenders. Perhaps Mr. Thompson needs to personally meet with the parents who have filed reports. Actions speak lounder than words, let's do something proactive instead of being reactive.
