But because the Republicans and Tea Baggers are far more corrupt and stupid, you should get used to hearing Madame President.

VinoTinto 3 weeks, 3 days ago on Walla Walla house fire seen as possible arson

This is crazy! What was used to start the fire? Are there any suspects? Everyone in the community should keep an eye out for themselves and neighbors. At that time of night this is premeditated murder not just arson. This is terrible.

I wholeheartedly agree. So what will ultimately happen:

  1. It will be removed
  2. Accidents and possibly deaths will occur
  3. The City will have to replace the traffic light, and eat the costs for moving it and replacing it.

Oh, and this just in most states don't use roundabouts, so it's confusing to tourists too. This is honestly stupidity at wirk here. We are not a car first society. Let pedestrians cross safely!!! Honestly, are their any adults running Walla Walla?

Keep the traffic lights. $250,000 seems cheap if it will save lives and slow down traffic. A roundabout there seems silly.

VinoTinto 4 months, 2 weeks ago on Recycling rate dips in Washington

Washington State must be doing well overall, but recycling does not exist in Walla Walla. The only reason Walla Walla offers the service is because it's a state mandate. How can The City of Walla Walla claim that they have a recycling program when they do not collect colored glass bottles? Then, they penalize you for not recycling enough when they will not accept everything. My primary residence is in San Francisco, CA and we recycle EVERYTHING and can co-mingle items in our recycling bins. We also compost EVERYTHING thus reducing our landfill items. I have called BDI before and was told that many items that they think we are recycling end-up in land fill anyway. The City of Walla Walla needs to get a clue on recycling and be more transparent with its residents - they dump in the land fill and hardly recycle anything ... at least it looks good on paper ... which by the way is recyclable!

VinoTinto 7 months ago on Letter - Sheriff Turner had divided Sheriff’s Office

This letter truly sheds some light on the Sheriff's Office. Employees can be good at certain aspects of their jobs, but may not be effective leaders or skillful at preparing an annual budget. Perhaps this is the case with John Turner. Who knows, but the Sheriff's Office has not operated as smoothly as promised.

Cooper for sheriff!

I am so tired of hearing about sheriff Turner! He should just be humble and do his job without having his camp submit a letter/editorial to the UB nearly every single day. FYI - their are newsworthy Turners - maybe you should do a story on Ted or Tina Turner. I don't want to know that much about John Turner, I just want him to do his job quietly and stop the media blitz. Enough already!
