Neither driver nor pedestrian should question when they have the right of way. Sometimes the driver does and sometimes the pedestrian does. Automation would solve this problem, but city government needs to make it a priority. If they the City purchased inferior traffic management systems, or do not have qualified resources to program them, then they are not serving their constituents well. The truth is that drivers, cyclists and pedestrians all share the roads. Help us get to our destinations safely regardless of how we choose to get there.
That's a ridiculous excuse. Walla Walla is the only place that I've ever been to where the walking icon doesn't turn green automatically. Additionally, put a fresh coat of paint on the pedestrian crossings!!! Not rocket science here and it underscores the City's flippant attitude towards pedestrian safety.
I'm removing 1/3 of my lawn this year and another third the following year. I intend to replace the lawn with a crushed granite sand mixture. I'll create some paths, do some hardscaping and add a couple of flower beds with drought tolerant plants. I think saving water will actually make the yard more interesting and beautiful. Plus, a lot less mowing!
You are not an expert and you continue to embarrass yourself. People all over the world are suffering the effects of climate change. You seem to be the only one not experiencing them, because you live on another planet. Shut it! Nobody cares about your cracker jack science ... on earth or wherever you're from!
Give it a rest Megan! Your argument is bogus and the fight was won fair and square. We don't live in a society where the popular kids can vote the less popular kids off the island because their lifestyle makes them feel uncomfortable. Get a grip on reality!
I realized I meant Judicial Branch after I posted.
What remains, however, is it is the law of the land and nobody gives a crap about this poor Christian sob story. If Christians can't follow the law then they should jump in the lion exhibit next time they're at the zoo.
In short, neener neener, you lost, good prevails and the nation is changing for the better!!!
The Supreme Court is the Legislative Branch of government, so this victory has gone through all the checks and balances necessary. Let's not forget what makes the U.S. great: SEPARATION OF CHURCH AND STATE. I am sorry that Christians do not feel comfortable with the ruling, but same sex people pay the same amount of taxes as everybody else, why shouldn't they be afforded the same rights? Talk about taxation without representation. I think this ruling underscores what most Americans think: Christians are a hateful bunch of schmucks that hide behind their religion to spew hate at whomever, whenever it's convenient. To sum up again, get used to it, you lost, and nobody is sympathetic to Christians hiding behind HATE to propel their agenda through the legal system.
It's the law of the land. Quit with the psycho-babble and learn how to accept it. You can argue this all you want, but IT'S THE LAW OF THE LAND - THE SUPREMES HAVE SPOKEN! The last 10 days has been horrible for conservatives ... who are going to have to learn have to deal with gay marriage, The Affordable Care Act and living without the confederate flag. To sum up, you lost!
I completely disagree. Not having a turn lane will create gridlock traffic, increase pollution from idling vehicles and compromise pedestrian safety. It will ruin the downtown shopping experience.
