Thank you for your letter. I'm tired of the complaints about the Rose Street design. Where 2nd Street is a three-lane road, it seems to work very well -- the Rose Streetvdesign will too.
I can see where this might lead to confusion about the role of Senators Murray and Cantwell; but I believe that this article deals with the House and Senate debate in Olympia involving Senator Hewitt, Representative Walsh, and Representative Nealey.
I've heard this argument before about prosecuting those who fail a background check. Can you point me to a website that explains what a background check is? Why would failing a background check warrant an arrest? http://gunguy.tempdomainname.com/nicsfail.htm
I like the Sandy Hook Promise ( check it out at www.sandyhookpromise.org/). I hope that others will agree that we (and members of Congress) can have a discussion and debate about gun violence, background checks, high capacity ammunition clips, and assault-style rifles. As a person who lost a friend to a Tacoma shooting by a mentally distributed stalker on the PLU campus on May 17, 2001, I thank you for your letter.
It's unfortunate that a super-majority was required to pass this much-needed renovation of WA-HI. 53.30% of voters approved the measure, 46.70% rejected it and yet it fails.
If the board's vote passed, it's a done deal. It's a bit like being "sort-of pregnant." Either it passed or it didn't. (It passed.)
Please give the school board president some respect. The board voted in a public meeting to return excess funds. They've gone on public record to return excess funds.
I'm pleased that the School Board has publicly committed to returning any excess funds.
