Very nice article, clear and concise. Time to think more about real qualifications and elect the most qualified person - Sheriff John Turner.

My reply was hasty but with all the nasty anti Turner remarks coming from these forums it was a knee jerk reaction. That said, I still don't understand the people why are standing behind a man (Cooper) who has no future vision, terrible work ethic and won't even show up for all the debates. He attended two of the four that I know of, I personally attended three. Cooper has had ample time (especially with his time off over the past 18 months) to study current case law, yet he stumbled many times of simple law questions. Such as his constant promise that he would immediate hire an Hispanic deputy. He can't it's illegal , he must hire from the list provided! Has anyone considered that is Cooper is elected what are his immediate plans? Fire everyone who didn't support him? I don't say this lightly, I say this from his demeanor at the debates (because that is the only place I ever see him, he is never at the Sheriff's office). I for one want a Sheriff that will keep our county safe, Sheriff Turner has earned my respect and the respect of many other.

I noticed that there are no replies to these honest and sincere questions, especially by Cooper or the UB staff who are supporting his election.

I am paid up through the end of the month. Nice try though. As for the UB being fair, I think you must be reading another UB. It's obvious to me that two things are happening: 1> UB is owned and operates as part of the Seattle Liberal mindset. 2> They have a vested interest in getting Cooper elected and I think that is unhealthy and unethical.

I just cancelled my subscription to the UB. I wonder why they are pushing so hard for Tom Cooper? Seems extremely suspicious to me. This continues to be very poor and biased reporting. At least the UB will burn in my fireplace so it has some use.

This article is so full of innuendoes I not ever sure where to start. Sheriff Turner is an honest hard working sheriff, with high morale from most of his staff and the community. I spend a good deal of time at the Sheriff Office and there is almost no conflict or morale issues!

Tom Cooper is a great unknown. This article says that he has vision for the future. I protest that opinion as untrue. I was at all of the debates that Tom Cooper attended and one that he skipped. Tom Cooper did not express any vision for the future! I have a few questions that no one seems to answer - Why isn't Tom Cooper working and how long can he continue to use his medical disability to stay as a paid employee? Most jobs would never allow an employee to stay away from work (in any fashion) for almost two years!!! If Tom Cooper can't work now, what would he do if elected? Also what is Tom Cooper going to do professionally if (and I hope this is true) he doesn't get elected?

campbell_rd 2 months, 3 weeks ago on Letter - Tom Cooper can restore public trust

I have worked with many of the Sheriff's staff, especially the Chief Deputy King and Sheriff Turner. They are all honorable people. One person I have never worked with is Tom Cooper. So all I have to go on are his debates. In my experience anyone who screams that "you can trust me" consistently is often not quite so trustworthy. Tom Coopers campaign isn't about what he can do for this community, but only about slams against a great Sheriff (John Turner). Can someone please explain what Tom Cooper can do better? Such as perhaps going back to work in any capacity.

Wow, you must always be at the Sheriff's office to know these facts. I know these facts are not true. All people are treated with respect until they loose that respect. Please state proven facts not Cooper generalized ideas. I personally have seen Sheriff Turner and staff treat everyone with respect! Should Hispanics be equal or treated special? The only real race is Human!
