Washingtonians gain from fiscal-cliff bill
How nice, instead we all received a nice income tax increase (of more than $600.00 yearly). Of course that only impacts the working few. Not trying to criticize those who can't find work, but how many are not even trying. At least the sales tax was equal. Something the Democrats like to preach but not practice, equality (yea right).

Excuse me - your statement "How long have we known about the fiscal cliff? Yet, the House of Representatives (and our beloved McMorris Rodgers) couldn't agree on anything until Jan. 1." is a BLATANTLY false statement. The House of Representative sent several bills to the Senate and good old Harry Reid and his Democrat buddies failed to vote on any of them. Then when the Senate did finally act they stuffed tons of special interest perks in for their buddies.
We need a simple rule, no exceptions to bills introduced, especially for members of the Congress and top executives. For example they Democrats jammed through the Obama Care bill, yet it doesn't impact them at all. Also there is a recent study showing that family of Congress don't have to pay back student loans. How insane!
Look at the weird laws we passed here in Washington this year... Sad state of affairs.

We need lees spending not more revenue. Any more taxes is insane! Does anyone for a second believe that more taxes will fix anything?
Perhaps we should eliminate the "tenure" and "unionization" traps that plague our poorly managed education system.

"The voter-approved legalization of same-sex marriage in Washington state makes it clear public attitudes about homosexuality and gay rights have shifted. Nine states have now legalized gay marriage." Not true! This issue passed mostly on mis-information and makes less sense than legalizing marijuana.

None of the democrats seem to really being calling Harry Reid or president Obama and demanding anything of them. Those two could stop this today, this very minute, but they won't!
We can all breath a big sigh of relief because President Obama is on top of campaigning and making others look bad. There is no chance we'll actually go over the fiscal cliff...no wait that's exactly what he (and Harry Reid) want to occur. Then they can cry foul again, that's all Obama is good at. Harry Reid is only good at blocking bills in the Senate, like a budget. Everyone who bought into Obama's negative campaign can now reap the benefits of our king... er president (in name only, he would need to be a leader to really be a president).
I'd bet good money that we will indeed go over the fiscal cliff and Washington state will suffer greatly. When that happens remember to thank "Harry Mason Reid" and "Barack Hussein Obama II"!

Doubling parking fines downtown makes sense
Great idea, double the fines on an already restrictive parking zone. My family almost never shops downtown anymore, wee can't afford to worry about silly parking rules, like a two hour zone throughout he entire downtown. So keep raising the rates and we'll keep spending our dollars elsewhere. I feel sorry for the businesses. The city is punishing everyone for a few lazy individuals.
