Correction for the record: There never has been a business of any sort by the name "O'Dell" in Walla Walla. There was a Roedel's Ice Cream shop in the 1940s and 1950s just a few blocks from the White Temple Baptist Church. Roedel's probably rhymes with O'Dell's which has caused the confusion.
See my website link below for several pictures and ads of Roedel's, and hundreds of other Walla Walla businesses, buildings, events, people, etc.
Yes, please reinstate the "search by name" function on this most important local database. It is an extremely useful tool for historians and genealogists.
Have old snapshots of the Oasis pre-1990? The *Bygone Walla Walla * photo history project would like to add them to its files. Have a look at the project at this site http://www.wallawalladrazanphotos.blogspot.com/
and email me photos for possible posting.
This photo was taken from an upstairs window in the back of the Book Nook building. It is looking at the bridge on Colville St. On the other side of the bridge is the Edgewater outdoor dance pavilion. Behind that is the tall building that was the YMCA which is still standing.

Correction: The Church of God was located at the corner of Park and Alder Streets across from old Fire Station #2, and not on Palouse street as captioned in photo number 3. The building was demolished and removed. The pastor's name was T W Good.
