goldlizard 1 year, 2 months ago on New Wa-Hi does not have to be fancy

Some people are never happy. Seems Barracuda and Namvet60 don't like it... ok. That's your right but I also think you are wrong. As for a school that is plain... let me ask you where you would rather work. I know as a student if I went into a school that was as blah as you are describing I would not be very interested in learning. Secondly and most importantly if I had to learn in a tightly clustered classroom with no room, out of date equipment and lab space, and heating and air that rarely worked I would struggle. Lets do the right thing and pass the bond... JMHO

I'm not a rich man by any sense. I'm voting yes because the need is there. Will it stretch my budget? Yes. Will it be easy? No. Does it need to happen? Yes. Take a tour of WaHi and you will see that it needs to get done. It especially is important when looking at the technology needs and science building needs. The comment about the portables is valid. Right now WaHi has 15 classrooms in portables. If they have 20 kids in each class, they have more than that by the way, you are looking at 300 students they need to put back into WaHi classrooms. The numbers will be very close to the number of students leaving for College Place. As it is space is limited. Adding space matters. Adding Technology Matters. Finally the kids of Walla Walla matter. As for me and my friends and family we are voting yes because it is the right thing to do.

Listen I am as conservative as they come and I hate to give my hard earned money to anyone, especially the government or any department they have under their control... Check my previous comments on this site and you'll see... I've been around WaHi for a couple years now. I have had family graduate from there and have family attending there. I have two boys 5 and 1. I've been in the classrooms and have worked inside the buildings. I'm telling you as honestly as I can that this school needs the remodel done... Period. It does not meet the needs of the students anymore, especially with the technology demands that are increasing every year. We are putting our kids in the hole. The heat and Air don't work, the technology is not up to snuff by a long shot, and the different departments are doing their best McGyvering to get the job done with really old facilities. The record of our teachers here in the valley is a good one. I have never worked with a more devoted group of people in my life. Drive by WaHi at night and see how many teachers are putting in extra hours. Ask a teacher how much of their own money they spend every year on their students. Our population is changing, needs are changing, Standards are changing and we are busting our rears to stay ahead and be the leaders we always have been in the state. If you want a comparison look at our school compared to Pasco or other schools with our population. The sad thing is... we could be sooo much better with the remodel and the proper facilities. We need this remodel to best serve the kids here. I don't rent, I pay a mortgage like most of you and I'm voting yes because I know the need is real. I also know that right now we get the best bang for our buck! If you come and see the school and really look at the issue... you'll do the same. JMHO.

Again your an idiot. The Musket was the top of line military firearm at the time. Our founding fathers wanted to make sure that ordinary people could rise up and take care of a government that didn't do its job of representing the people. You would be considered a good NAZI Peggy during the late 20's and 30's. They thought the same way you did. The government would take care of them and knew what was best. Trust them...(Unless you were a Jew, Gypsie, etc...)

The 2nd is not for hunting... or sport... but to protect us from people who would take away our rights... THE GOVERNMENT. Obviously you have not, or do not know what is written in one of the founding documents of this country. They are made for killing. My guess is that you never had a gun or shot a gun in your life. I don't care what you think Peggy Joy. You have the right to say what you want but if you try to take away my rights then we will have issues. Criminals don't follow laws anyway Peggy. You are an idiot

goldlizard 1 year, 5 months ago on Where should city of Walla Walla spend onetime windfall?

Take it and wall up stoner park downtown. Then go out and spend the rest on a real community center (get kids to give ideas on what should be in it) for our city youth where they can go out and dance, hang out, and have fun without worrying about gang crap and what not. You can have it ran by some form of law enforcement during the evenings from 4-8 and on Friday and Saturday from 12-10. This would be a good thing and would also give the kids in walla walla a place to call their own and have some fun.

I believe this is a great idea and wouldn't cost Walla Walla home owners anything close to a lot of money. Lets get this done for our kids who will be coming up to the high school and make our school modern for teaching, something we can be proud of, and want to send our kids. JMHO

goldlizard 1 year, 5 months ago on Have your voice heard on Wa-Hi modernization

If anyone really knows what is going on with this they should make sure to put their opinion in. I for one believe it is a good idea especially since it will only be about 12 dollars a month on a 200k home. Now is the time. For all of you who believe that wahi is new... You should go on a tour like I did. It isn't we need the best education for our children and Walla Walla does a great job with our kids. Check the facts don't believe some of these fools.

goldlizard 1 year, 6 months ago on Why on Earth is Obama president

Sooooo. I look at this election in a simple way... Obama did not complete what he promised to do when he took office. He said that if he didn't get it done we should vote him out. I voted for Obama 4 years ago. Now I'm voting for someone else who I hope will follow through with his plan. We need to get the budget under control and create jobs. PERIOD! That is all...
