The only grocery costs would be those that the corporations feel like imposing on customers as petty punishment for being regulated. Yes, there will be regulatory costs, but those are costs I would be completely willing to pay.
"Before voting, Dozier said he is struggling with the issue of the county providing a public access point for the drug on one hand while simultaneously taxing people to fund substance abuse treatment for problems it might cause."
Are you kidding? People are making money on wine here hand over fist. Pretty sure that alcohol abuse exists. Deaths from drunk driving still exist. No one is screaming and crying about putting Walla Walla wine in people's hands. But pot? Omg! Not that! anything but that. Also pretty sure you can get cigarettes at any gas station or supermarket. Lung cancer is the 2nd most common type of cancer. Treatments cost tax payers millions of dollars a year and we tax cigs heavily, laughing all the way to the bank..And potato chips ---- fat clogs arteries, yes? Heart disease is a #1 killer.
You've already had a year to think about these laws. Now you want another year? Did you wake up yesterday and remember that you had to make a decision about this out of the blue? Y'all are a joke.
That is the most wonderful story. Here's to all of y'all involved in it.
Why would there be a moratorium? The Federal Government has already said that they will not pursue charges against Washington and Colorado for making pot legal. We are obsessed with the wine industry here and alcohol does a lot more damage than pot. Two thumbs down
I am bummed that the Parasol is leaving. I always liked to look at the window displays. I'm also disappointed that it will be replaced with ANOTHER tasting room . I also wish that people with 2nd story residential potential would create tenant apartments rather than vacation rentals :(
Man. You think too much of yourself. Are you going to sue over the bugs that get stuck to your bumper too? I have had pitch on my car, bird poop and frass from bugs eating the trees. I'd much rather keep the trees and the shade they give than freak out about a little sap (which I have never gotten on my car in Walla...). It is not hard to get it off yourself - stop being such a lazy pansy.
"Gemplar acknowledged that domestic workers could be persuaded to do field work, but he estimated it would take wages of $25 of $30 per hour."
That's bullsh!t. I have a masters and I don't even make $25 an hour. Most people in the universe don't make that kind of money. People will pick for alot less. People will do most jobs for less. The problem is that it's seasonal work with no benefits. It's hard to build a life on that kind of on again off again work, esp if the crop fails that year - then you are doubly screwed (as a worker - the farmers themselves have crop insurance). A domestic worker is also a bit intimidated when coming into a job where 95% of your coworkers are guest workers that only speak Spanish.
2 thumbs up for putting the info out there. hopefully this will keep everyone's confusion and frustration with the differing rules to a minimum
Put on your big girl pants and buy a new rose bush. Suing over something like that is petty. If you know the kid, go to their parents, get the name of the pusher and go to that boy's parents and have him apologize. Or have them make the kid help you plant the replacement bush. Since you are the older person why not be the bigger person too?
