I agree with the UB opinion. Our Governor seems to believe he is in the white house sitting next to our president who has no problem spending money we do not have. Our Governor's priorities in this fiscally challenging time seems to be global warming and funding higher education for people in our country illegally. I am worrying about paying for my daughter's college. And yes, I know many readers are now calling me names however I am not a biased person. I have traveled to other parts of the world and enjoy living and interacting with people of differing cultures. My experience is that only in the United States are "visitors" to our country not expected to abide by local customs and laws. In this eastern part of Washington state we are hostages to the higher population on the west (left) side of the state, we do not matter. It is because of this that I do not hold out much hope for a change of direction from Olympia. We are being driven by liberal Olympia and we will be driven until we wreck.

I believe the entire point is that banning firearms is an emotional irrational reaction. When I went to high school, the 1970's, I always had a firearm in my vehicle because my buddy and I would go hunting before school and after. We never contemplated taking our guns into school and shooting people. We need to treat the behavior. The manner in which society ignores people with mental illness is a huge part of the current problem we have. Society also has been very quick to excuse people's bad behavior. Banning guns or "only some" guns is not the answer.

Like cambell_rd I also identify with republicans because republican values are my values. I am most disapointed with the utter intolerance expressed by today's democrat. Not long ago the mayor of Chicago vocally discouraged a major business, a business which puts people to work, which pays taxes, to leave Chicago because the business owner had views on marriage which differed from a democratic view. Just the other day a high school student wore a Romney/Ryan shirt to school on a relaxed dress day. Her teacher imediately aggessively approached the student and ordered her to leave the classroom while telliing her she could not wear a republican shirt inside a democratic school. The teacher loudly belittled the child while asking other sturdents to join in the bullying. School administrators have admitted the shirt did not violate school policy. I would hope Ms. Weaver would join most adults in saying this teacher was wrong to disrupt her class while also infringing on this students rights. Democrats supposedly seek the "youth" vote, but it seems to me that democrats encourage the youth vote, only if they vote for democratic issues.

The good Doctor has shown that research is not his strong attribute. Perhaps the head line for this article was not written by Dr. Mulkerin, but the head line certainly caught my attention. How inaccurant and insulting all members of the military; to compare criminal street gang members with professional soldiers following orders issued by the United States Commander in Chief. "Link seen in brains of soldiers, gang members". There are MANY differences between member of the United States military and criminal street gang members. The most important difference is HONOR. Dr. Mulkerin simply does not know what he is talking about. Gang members will violently attack men, women, and children in pursuit of claiming "turf" ( a neighborhood, park, school, etc.); and by the way Doctor. "OG" means Original Gangster, not "Old Guys). Your bias has exposed you for the far left divisive person you are.
