One who is homeless, ill-fed, in poor health or friendless does have more immediate concerns. But most of us are currently free of those issues. And some will be wealthy or lucky enough to escape the impact of our careless and short-sighted treatment of our world. Does that mean that we can just go merrily on our way without a care, without any concern for those we allow to fall by the wayside?
For myself, I cannot ignore the fact that those who ignore the prolem make it worse, and that we are the ones who will make the world our children must live with.
Sad that bike lane is incompatible with 4 lane design. I doubt that squeezing traffic to insert bike lane (and allow parking, from what I have learned elsewhere) will make biking any safer there. More likely a place to be avoided, like Main Street.
Do your own research. You are obviously not well read in this field. Try sciencenews.org, the American Association for the Advance of Science (AAAS), or a good college library. I think there are at least two of the latter in the immediate area. Study animal behavior. Most of your contentions are emotional appeals and have no factual basis.
