Mr . Phillips, it would be nice to know where you get some of your facts. You might want to verify some of your information. 1st, the weapons the Sheriff's Department had were not 15 years old. Further more after spending all that taxpayers money only a handful of the Deputies carry them. The majority purchased their own. The rest of the these apparently sit on a shelve. 2nd, what about the spending for the new rifles and optics for each deputy. Sure they are nice but not worth the $1500-1700.00 for each one. 3Rd. They apparently didn't trade the old rifles in, instead decided they would sit idle in a storage room. As to the bullet proof vest, they also usually replaced every five years, and money is set a side out of the budget for that. this is nothing new, the previous Sheriff's did the same thing. It would appear that you are the one trying to mislead people.
Yes- no arrest powers.
As to Mr. King He is Wa. State certified.
He has not completed the basic academy. From my understanding He is considered an administrative Sheriff only.
This appears to be another bad decision made by the current elected Sheriff. This is not a wise move. If this happens Walla Walla County will be hard pressed to ever be able to have a undersheriff's position again. This position is needed. Every other Sheriff's Office in the State, and else where have one. They do not eliminate it and give his assistant big raise. I guess in the long run the voters will make the final say!
It should be a very interesting year for election of a new Sheriff!
Another attempt to try and make himself look good in the publics eye. What about all the unfair labor suits pending with employee's. That should be real interesting. Wonder what else will; come up.
RE: IM Just Saying: Not sure where you get your information from, but apparently you must be the one who continues to get thrown under the bus, and still can't figure that out. As to disgruntled employees, there appear to be several, and only a handful who can't seem to see the light. Most of the citizens of Walla Walla have figured it out. Most citizens are upset with all the bad publicity the sheriff's office is receiving. It seems every day something else comes up, which continues to raise questions about the sheriff's office. May be one of these days the situation will get straightened out.
I think Mr. Donavan should rethink his statements, and get the truth before making these type of statements. May be the UB should refuse to print anything He has submitted.
They are not bias. They just speak the truth.
Ref: Wallanative: If what you said was true about Turner holding the employees accountable for doing their job, Then why are two of the worst productive people still working there. A matter of fact both are sergeants, and are turners puppets. When will you figure it out.
